On October 28, Norwegian will start direct flights between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå with departures five days a week. Due to the high demand, the number of departures will be increased until spring 2025.
Norwegian continues to develop the route network and in June the new route between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå was launched with premiere at the end of October. Between October 28, 2024 and April 29, 2025, the route will operate five days a week; on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. From April 30, the number of departures will be increased to six days a week, every day except Saturdays. This means 6,000 more seats in the summer program compared to the winter program. “We are pleased that our establishment between Stockholm and Skellefteå has received such a positive welcome and we look forward to contributing to increased accessibility to and from the Skellefteå region. The fact that we are increasing the number of departures until spring 2025 is due to the fact that there is a great demand and a need for increased competition on the route between Skellefteå and Stockholm. We look forward to starting the route at the end of October and welcoming travelers on board,” says Magnus Thome Maursund, Commercial Director at Norwegian. “Since the turn of the year, the Skellefteå region has grown strongly and we have the lowest unemployment in the country, which means that the need for good air communications is great. Skellefteå is today an engine for the green transition and that development will continue. Having access to a good infrastructure with good accessibility to the outside world is therefore an important piece of the puzzle in the entire social transformation. It is therefore very gratifying that we are already receiving news of an increased air traffic with Norwegian, says Robert Lindberg CEO of Skellefteå Airport An exception to the expansion that starts on April 30 is that between weeks 25 and 33 the route is served five days a week, every day except Wednesdays and Saturdays.
