Since the beginning of the year, the airline Norwegian has flown the route Arlanda \u2013 Skellefte\u00e5 \u2013 Arlanda twice a week. During the high summer, a break was planned, but due to increased demand, Norwegian will now operate the route throughout the summer. This means a significant increase in capacity in the number of seats to and from Skellefte\u00e5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Norwegian has flown the route between Skellefte\u00e5 and Stockholm-Arlanda since November 2024, and since the turn of the year the route has been operated with two departures per week.
\nNow Norwegian is choosing to extend its flight schedule with peak summer traffic during the period June 12 to August 16, and then the route will continue throughout the autumn.
\nThe decision means that 720 airline seats will be added per week during the peak summer period, which is very pleasing for the region's residents, businesses and tourism.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We are noticing an increased interest in traveling to and from Skellefte\u00e5 and it is therefore pleasing to be able to offer flights even during the peak summer. Skellefte\u00e5 is currently experiencing positive developments with increased business activity and with it comes an increased need for flights to and from Skellefte\u00e5. We are pleased to be able to continue to strengthen our presence in the region with competitive airfares in modern and fuel-efficient aircraft, says Charlotte Holmbergh, Country Director Corporate Affairs.<\/p>\n

\u2013 This is very important and welcome news for the business community, residents and the tourism industry in Skellefte\u00e5 as the need for flight capacity and accessibility to the outside world is increasing with the large establishments of Lyten and EdgeConnex. With this news we will have continuous air traffic with Norwegian, which is very pleasing and which we know is appreciated by travelers, says Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefte\u00e5 Airport.<\/p>\n

Skelleftea Airport<\/strong> is V\u00e4sterbotten's second largest airport with a strategic location between Lule\u00e5 and Ume\u00e5. The airport is owned by Skellefte\u00e5 Municipality and has approximately 350,000 passengers per year.
