The number of passengers traveling to or from Skellefte\u00e5 Airport has recovered quickly since the pandemic restrictions were lifted. Traffic statistics for April 2022 show that the number of passengers was higher compared to the same month in 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n In April 2022, 22,774 passengers flew to or from Skellefte\u00e5 Airport. In April 2019, when the pandemic had not yet hit, the corresponding figure was 20,302. This is an increase of 2,472 passengers or 10.8 percent. These figures also show the rapid recovery for the airport since April 2021, when only 5,388 passengers flew to or from Skellefte\u00e5.<\/p>\n \u2013 It is a recovery that is as quick as it is gratifying. It is proof that people are longing to go out into the world after two years of restrictions, but also a testament to the role that Skellefte\u00e5 Airport plays for both private individuals and companies in the region's ongoing social development, says Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefte\u00e5 Airport.<\/p>\n Despite the pandemic, Skellefte\u00e5 Airport has continued to work on developing its offering. Earlier this spring, both BRA and Ryanair resumed the departures that were paused during the pandemic, and during the summer, BRA will fly from Skellefte\u00e5 and Gothenburg and to Visby during Almedalen Week.<\/p>\n \u2013 We have not been idle during the pandemic but have continued to develop Skellefte\u00e5 Airport for the future.
