Norwegian has been operating flights to Skellefteå since the fall of 2024. A strong business community combined with regional investments in the Skellefteå region has contributed to Norwegian deciding to continue operating flights to Skellefteå next year.
– Several positive things are happening in the Skellefteå region and it is exciting to follow the developments there. For a stronger business community, good accessibility to the outside world is needed, and air connections are an important part of the region's ability to continue to develop and grow. It is therefore gratifying that we can announce today that we will continue flying between Stockholm and Skellefteå with the hope of being able to increase the number of departures if the positive trend continues, says Charlotte Holmbergh, Country Director Corporate Affairs at Norwegian.
– Skellefteå's growth requires accessibility to the outside world and good air communications. The announcement that Norwegian will continue to operate flights to Skellefteå is therefore very important for the business community, residents and the tourism industry, and we naturally hope for increased air traffic for a growing Skellefteå, says Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefteå Airport.
Norwegian has operated the route between Stockholm-Arlanda and Skellefteå twice a week for most of 2025. The airline will now continue to operate Skellefteå next year with the possibility of increased capacity depending on demand. The route will initially operate on Fridays and Sundays to suit both weekly commuters and those who want to travel back and forth over a weekend.
