We at Skellefteå Airport follow the advice of the Swedish Ministry of Health, the WHO and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regarding COVID-19 for increased safety and to help reduce the spread of infection. At Skellefteå Airport, we have implemented routines and guidelines so that you as a traveler can feel safe on your trip.
As an airport, we at Skellefteå Airport want to implement the measures we can to offer safe travel and a safe working environment. Therefore, we apply the same standardized procedures to limit the spread of infection as Swedavia airports and other international airports for the health and safety of our travelers.
These include, among other things, that passengers are recommended to wear face masks when they enter the terminal and keep them on throughout their stay there, the same applies to staff who come into contact with passengers in their work. We encourage you to check in at home (via the airlines' websites and apps) and to use Self-service when dropping off luggage and boarding. In addition, the recommendation is that only passengers and staff should be in the terminal, so we ask those who are picking up or dropping off to do this outside the airport. Those staying in the terminal are also reminded of the importance of keeping their distance through markings on the floor, washing their hands regularly or using hand sanitizer that is placed in our areas, coughing into the crook of their arm, avoiding touching their face and staying home if they have symptoms of illness according to FHM's recommendations.
This is what we do at Skellefteå Airport to reduce the spread of infection:
- We ask that you keep your distance – We remind you via loudspeaker announcements and we ourselves keep a safe distance from passengers and colleagues.
- Please check in at home via app or web.
- We have expanded our cleaning procedures to make you feel safe when you travel with us.
- We disinfect all contact surfaces in check-in, the self-service machines and the gate between each departure.
- We disinfect all boxes in the security checkpoint between each departure.
- Plexiglass protection at check-in, gate and security checkpoints helps you feel safe on your trip.
- In the terminal, we recommend that you wear a face mask, and so do our staff.
- Those who are picking up or dropping off – thank you for avoiding crowds and waiting outside the airport.
- We offer hand disinfection in all areas.
- We ask you to respect floor markings and keep your distance in queues.
- Do not travel when you are sick. Stay home at the slightest symptoms, this of course also applies to our own staff.
