Norwegian has operated the flight route between Skellefteå and Stockholm-Arlanda since October 2024. The establishment was long-awaited by both the region's business community and private individuals. As interest in the route has strengthened, Norwegian is extending the flight program to Skellefteå. 

Norwegian has operated the route between Stockholm Arlanda and Skellefteå twice a week and has now chosen to extend the route until spring 2027.
If demand continues to be strong, expanded capacity is planned from the summer season in 2027.

For Skellefteå, the announcement of an extension is welcome.

– In Skellefteå, we will see a new growth phase in the coming years as Lyten, EdgeConneX and several other industrial establishments will be implemented.
For Skellefteå, aviation is absolutely crucial as it gives our residents, businesses and the tourism sector the opportunity to reach the outside world in an efficient way and for the outside world's accessibility to Skellefteå. We are therefore very grateful that Norwegian continues to operate services to Skellefteå and we naturally hope for increased traffic in the future in a growing Skellefteå, says Lorents Burman (S), Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board, Skellefteå Municipality.

It is therefore pleasing that we can announce today that we will continue to fly between Stockholm and Skellefteå throughout the winter season 2026/2027 and if passenger volumes continue to increase, we believe in an expansion in 2027, says Charlotte Holmbergh, Country Director Corporate Affairs at Norwegian.
