Road work!

The Swedish Transport Administration will reinforce road 774 from the intersection with road 364 (Burträskvägen) to approx. 100 m south of the entrance to the airport. The work begins in June and takes a winter break on 9/30. Traffic will be diverted to E4. Read more on the Trafikverket’s website here:–ygplats-orrbacken-forstarkning-av-vag/#om_projektet

Between August 7 and August 18, the Swedish Transport Administration will work on changing the asphalt on the E4 south of Bureå. It will be between 06:00 and 20:00 in the evening and it will also mean that it will be more difficult to get to the place. The traffic will be regulated with either pilots or traffic lights. Lanes will be closed while the work is in progress. So you have to count on waiting times. We would like to encourage travelers to plan their journey and start in good time for the airport. It is also important to take into account those who work on the roads and keep the speed down.

Ryanair expands service between Skellefteå and Stockholm Arlanda

Ryanair air

From 27 March 2023, Ryanair will increase departures between Skellefteå and Stockholm from three to five flights per week. The reason for the increase is that flights on the route have been popular and have had a high fill rate.

The airline Ryanair previously moved its base to Stockholm Arlanda, allowing domestic traffic in Sweden. With this, the company started domestic traffic between Skellefteå Airport and Stockholm-Arlanda. The flights have been very popular since the start and Ryanair has now decided to increase the service between Skellefteå Airport and Stockholm-Arlanda from the current three round trips per week to five round trips.

  • The development that is now taking place in the Skellefteå region is unparalleled throughout Europe, and for us to be able to cope with the strong growth that is taking place, good communications to the outside world are required. The flight infrastructure is absolutely crucial for our region’s continued expansion as the distances to Stockholm or other cities are long. Ryanair’s decision to expand the service is important for individuals and businesses to travel to or from Skellefteå, which in turn is important for the region’s growth, says Robert Lindberg, CEO of Skellefteå Airport.

Ryanair will operate the Stockholm Arlanda – Skellefteå – Stockholm Arlanda route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 27 March.
